After obtaining her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Molecular and Developmental Biology and Biochemistry, Dr. Panaite has received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree summa cum laude as well as numerous university awards- Julius & Eleanor Foundationand Pierre Fauchard Academy Scholarship from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Panaite has published articles in the Journal of Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy and Molecular Biology Journal Plasmid. She then continued her career at UCLA as a Post-Doctoral resident in Periodontal Surgery and Implantology. Concurrent with her Periodontal Residency program requirements, Dr. Panaite completed the research and didactic requirements for a Master of Medical Sciences degree (M.S.) in Oral Biology and Craniofacial Sciences.

 

In the last year of her periodontal training, Dr. Panaite was the winner of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) Foundation Gerald M. Kramer Scholar Award for Clinical & Academic Excellence. The Kramer Award of Excellence is awarded to one of the top periodontal graduate post-doctoral residents in the country following a significant application and interview process. She has also completed her periodontal board examinations and is currently a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

 

After the completion of her UCLA Periodontal program, Dr. Panaite was accepted in an advanced implant and surgical training fellowship at the UCLA Research and Implant Center within the division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. As the first female Periodontist accepted into this program, Dr. Panaiteincorporated her periodontal surgical training in plastic and reconstructive soft tissue techniques and expanded her background in oral surgery. The fellowship enabled Dr. Panaite to perfect her surgical training in advanced implant surgery, hardtissue augmentative procedures and anesthesiology. During her fellowship program, she had the opportunity to perform hundreds of implant surgeries and hard tissue reconstructive procedures. Dr. Panaite has been an associate clinical professor and lecturer at the University of California Los Angeles, where she was involved with development of clinical translational research, as well as teaching at both graduate and post-graduate levels. Dr. Panaite remains committed in her quest for knowledge and dedicated to improving the periodontal and general health of the public through increasing public and professional awareness in her areas of expertise- Periodontology and Oral Implantology.
